Which Power BI course should I take?

Do you offer training outside of the U.S.?

Yes, we have multiple training options to accommodate any location. Our self-paced classes are available 24/7. While most of our live, public training classes are scheduled for U.S. time zones, oversees participants are welcome. In addition, we can arrange private group training to suit your specific schedule and location. Contact us online or by email at info@senturus.com for more information.

Are there prerequisites for classes?

Some of our classes have prerequisites which are noted in the respective class description.

How do I pay for the class?

For instructor-led online classes, you can pay online with a major credit card, purchase order or invoice. When paying by purchase order or invoice (a $50 fee is applied), select P.O. or Invoice at checkout and we’ll send you an email with instructions for how to request an invoice from finance@senturus.com.

For self-paced classes, you can pay online with a major credit card. Purchase orders are only accepted for bulk purchases.

Do you offer volume discounts?

In which formats do you offer training?

You can get instruction in a way that is best suited to your individual or group learning needs: private group training, instructor-led online, mentoring and self-paced training. Contact us online or call us at 888 601 6010 ext. 1 for more information.

When is private training appropriate?

If you have five or more students who need training on the same topic, private group training can be more cost effective than public training, regardless of the software tool, student role or experience level. Private group training can be delivered onsite, online or both, depending on your situation. Do you provide consulting services?

Yes. Senturus is a full-service partner for accelerating analytics systems modernization and adoption. We have expertise across the BI stack as well as hybrid, on-prem and cloud platforms. We offer a full spectrum of BI services including strategy, architecture, data modeling, migrations and staffing.

What experience or training do your instructors have?

All of our instructors are hands-on BI consultants, or doers, when they are not teaching. Each has come from the industry and approaches coursework with an understanding of the tangible end-goals a business must address. Equally, all Senturus instructors have more than 10 years of experience. We have conducted more than 700 training sessions with some of the largest international corporations, as well as some of the most ambitious young companies here in our Silicon Valley backyard. How do I register for instructor-led classes?

See our course schedule. Choose your class, register and pay on our website. If a class is listed, but not offered in the coming weeks, contact us online or email us at training@senturus.com to find out the next time it will be offered.

How long are classes/courses?

Classes range from half-day to three days, depending on the class. Our experience has shown that extended training is not necessarily better than focused training. You may note some of our classes are shorter than other providers’ because we have extracted the fluff. We quickly get to the heart of what you need to know and leave time for you to ask questions.

Will I need special software to take an online course?

Our online courses are hosted using GoToMeeting. Test your access to the classroom. Many classes require you to have the appropriate BI (Power BI, Tableau, Cognos) software installed.  This will be specified in the confirmation email.

Some courses require access to our cloud training server. We’ll provide instructions for setting up and testing your connection in your confirmation email. There is no special software download required.

When are classes held?

For our instructor-led online courses, we offer a variety of times to suit different U.S time zones. The course description lists the time of the class. Private group training is scheduled at the client’s convenience. This includes off-hours such as evenings or weekends to accommodate global attendees and those who cannot take time away from the office.

Is there a registration cut-off date?

We limit attendance to 12 students, so classes fill up quickly. To guarantee your seat in a class and receive course material in time, we encourage registration at least one week prior to the scheduled date.

What is your cancellation policy for instructor-led classes?

We provide a full refund for classes cancelled at least 10 business days prior to the scheduled class start date. Cancellation notices submitted at least three business days prior to the scheduled class start date will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be given for cancellations received less than three business days prior to the scheduled class start date.

How do I know my registration has been received?

You will receive an email confirming your registration after filling out the online form. Within one business day of registration, you will receive another email with course logistics.

How do I access my instructor-led online course on the Senturus training platform?

Follow these steps:

  1. Access the Senturus training platform at https://senturus.litmos.com.
  1. Type your Username and Password. Login credentials are sent in a separate email from Senturus, Inc.< system@litmos.com>.

  2. Click Login.
  3. From the dashboard, click the tile for your course.

How do I sign the terms of use for my course materials?

Follow these steps:

  1. Login to the Senturus training platform at https://senturus.litmos.com. See How to access my course on the Senturus training platform.
  2. Click Start this course or Terms of use for Senturus training courses.
  3. Click Start.
  4. Type your name, check the box confirming your signature, then click Save.
  5. Click Continue.

How do I download the course presentation and hands-on learning scripts for instructor-led online courses?

Follow these steps:

  1. Login to the Senturus training platform at https://senturus.litmos.com. See How to access my course on the Senturus training platform.
  2. Click on Content Library.
  3. This screen will show all the presentations that you can download. If you select Collection for your course, you can see a list of presentations for that course. Each presentation appears as an asset and can be downloaded. When you click on the course, it will launch the course. Learning Paths will show if you purchased a course bundle.

How do I download data files needed to complete the hands-on learning exercises?

Follow these steps:

  1. Login to the Senturus training platform and access your course at https://senturus.litmos.com. See How to access my course on the Senturus training platform.
  2. Click Additional References.
  3. Click Download for each of the files

How do I complete the course evaluation?

Follow these steps:

  1. Login to the Senturus training platform at https://senturus.litmos.com. See How to access my course on the Senturus training platform.
  2. Click Course Evaluation – Instructor Live – Link.
  3. Click the course title, then complete the survey.
  4. When done with the survey, scroll to the top and click Exit.

How do I obtain my course completion certificate?

Contact us at training@senturus.com if you are taking this course for CPE credit. Otherwise, follow these steps:

  3. Click Download Certificate.
